What do we tell our employees and our customers? What is our message?
If we look at the more successful marketers, we will find that they have a clear and consistent message. It is a message that populates their market communication and their internal communications as well.
When I joined the old Chase, the David Rockefeller driven bank, the message was “You’ve got a friend at Chase!” For many of us, Coke is still the real thing and Campbell’s soups are MMM! Good.
Those slogans, were more than mere words, they were philosophies that drove the way the companies did business, treated their employees and those employees treated the customers.
All companies use slogans, some live them.
Remember that we are in a “people business”. We are not product driven. We are customer driven, people driven. It is our people who communicate with the customers – who of course are people – and it is the way they live and communicate that customer service message and our commitment to serve the customer and meet their needs that will ultimately make our company successful.
So, are we truly “at your service and on your side”?
