BEN DEMPSEY PROMOTED TO CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF COLONIAL SAVINGS
FORT WORTH, Texas, February 7, 2005 - Ben Dempsey has been promoted to chief financial officer and senior vice president of Colonial Savings and its affiliate companies, according to James E. DuBose, president and chief executive officer.
Dempsey will have responsibility over all financial and regulatory concerns for Colonial Savings, Colonial National Mortgage, CU Members Mortgage, DuBose and Associates Insurance and Colonial Life Insurance Company of Texas.
Dempsey earned his B.A. in business administration and accounting from Texas Christian University in 1982. He is a Certified Public Accountant and became a Certified Mortgage Banker in October 2004.
His experience with Colonial includes controller of Residential Mortgage Investments, Inc., a residential REIT managed by Colonial Savings; assistant controller of Colonial Savings; controller and treasurer of Colonial Savings; and cashier, with supervision of seven bank branches plus wholesale, retail and credit union mortgage origination divisions with offices nationwide.
Dempsey is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs and has served on several committees and as chairman of the Financial Institutions Committee in 1998 and 1999.
He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and a Cub Scout leader.
